Last one for night - unintentional torture test of variable focus

It would be fun to try, but on an unfinished wood surface the misting would probably make the wood fibers swell and warp the wood before it gets lasered. I wonder if the heat and drying effect of the laser would flatten it?

Everything you said holds true for plastic sheet (like Delrin) and potentially metal (aluminum / steel)…unless it was Blanchard ground after stress relieving like Mic6 is (I believe).

I know one machine shop who will go back-and-forth from front-to-back upwards of seven times in order to machine something flat out of Delrin, and another shop who will machine it to rough size, send it out to be annealed, and then finish machine it too size. Internal stresses are nothing to take lightly :slight_smile:
