Awesome find! I’ve been reading all my Tandy emails hoping for products like this but missed the notice on those. Thanks for posting.

Now we can just hope it’s actually laserable!

Once the GF comes in this is a good opportunity for a crowd sourced hide and USPS ship flat rate boxes. I’m sure there is some other ‘buy bulk only’ materials that could lend them self to this. figure there could be other things that some ppl will say ya ill go 1/2 or 1/8th with someone on it

Belted Galloways!
Him indoors loves these guys. They use them a lot in his line of work as they are very hardy and heft well.

We had the belted galloways as well. My mom used to refer to them as the “fuzzy bumblebee cows” when she’d visit. Feeding them was sometimes like attending a riot because they’d all push up around the truck and rock it back and forth while you’re standing in the back trying to unload their feed.

Ooh… just followed your link to this post, and that is pretty! I typically avoid buying leather from Tandy (though I do buy some tools from them) but this line makes me reconsider!

If it’s truly veg tan/chrome free, it should be laser-able. I hope? Please do share your findings on that count!

Has anybody with a pre release tried this yet? A couple colors have already disappeared, and I really want to get some.

I’m dredging this dead thread back up now that a bunch of us have machines- has anybody tried the bright leather from Tandy? I did a little digging and didn’t find anything more recent than this.

I did a bunch on a pru. Cut like buttah

Awesome! Thanks!

I notice the absence of white, has anyone played with lighter leathers to see what the edges look like? I had kind of imagined only medium browns and darker would look okay unless you wanted the stroke effect around the cut edges.

Great to know!

the light-colored proofgrade looks dark around the edges, but that’s char that could probably be removed.

Don’t know if this is news, but I see that Tandy has their veg-tanned leather in colors on clearance. Not too sure on the price for non-members, but it looks like $70 for a side (18-20 feet).
