LED Halloween Shadowbox

Seems like most of the post in “Made on a Glowforge” are finished projects. This one is more of a first test. Maybe you will be inspired to try one too.

I used the artwork I made for a book nook since after I made it I realized it might be better suited for a layered paper shadow box.

Went through a few different design directions, spacers and stacking. I made a generic box and friction fitted everything. I should be able to recut a new design and reload it.

5mm Columbia Purebond
65lb cardstock
.15in amazon cardboard
LED strip with basic inline controller

Lessons learned…

Next time make a smaller prototype. This box is 6 inches square. There is a lot of paper waste. If I had made it 5x5 I could have ganged up two to a page.

I need to use a tacky mat or a vacuum table like @evansd2 Vacuum tray replacement for cutting lightweight materials

Some of the cutouts fluttered when cutting and made an irregular cut.

Cardboard spacers could have been nested better.
