If you’re just looking for a cheap way to spray any paint you like and don’t need the fine control of an airbrush consider a Preval spayer. It’s a hand sized can of compressed air that you screw on top of a small jar with a siphon between the two. They run about $5 and can be found at most hardware stores.

If you do want to test basic airbrush I’ll throw another vote to the mid-priced Harbor Freight version or the sub $20 starter kit from Badger. You can run those with canned air, too, if you’re not ready to spring for a compressor.
