Make a jig, grab a router, trim the openings to allow thick materials, but remember that you’ll need to remove the crumb tray in order to use it this way, and your warranty will most definitely be voided.
I’ve seen these machines in person. If it is for business, then the cost may be worth it. I can’t justify it for myself
