We just released a new Polygon Box generator in Cuttle.

You can customize the number of sides (make it a pentagon, hexagon, octagon, etc) and the height, diameter, and material thickness. It generates a press-fit SVG cut file, ready to laser.

@federico recorded a terrific video tutorial walking through the parameters and assembly.

I think this looks great with cutouts on the sides, so I also made this variation with a mandala pattern.

Both of these templates are free for the next week, then they will become Cuttle Pro templates.

Here’s a free-forever Octagon box that’s 3in height and 3in diameter (nice size for a pencil holder).

I set the material thickness on this for GF Proofgrade Light Maple (0.118in on my latest batch). But if you use the generator you can set it to whatever material you’re using to get a perfect press fit.

Left one has 8 sides, 3in diameter, 3in height
Right one has 5 sides, 3in diameter, 2.25in height
