I was wondering how I get this file? I right clicked on the image and saved as , but when I open it in my design software it is solid black. Can anyone please help me? Thank you.
It was designed in InkScape. What software are you trying to use?
You might just be able to remove the āfillā on the objects?
I am using Silhouette business edition. Iām not familiar with InkScape but will try to figure it out. Thanks for the reply.
You shouldnāt need InkScape if you have a different editor. As long as the other editor supports SVG format.
You might just see if the āfillā option in your editor is set to ānoneā.
I use Silhouette Business all the time. I simply select the whole area and click the outline color to black and the fill button to āxā for no color. I then go through and change the colors to what I want for cutting, engraving or scoring.
I just wanted to share what my friend did with this free file. Her good friend was a school bus driver who sadly passed away. This was the floral arrangement she made for his service. Thank you so much for this file.
Thanks for sharing. That was a beautiful use of the file.
Sorry for her loss.
What a special remembrance for the friendās family.
Just wanted to say thank you! Iām making a few of these for some special bus drivers. I work in an elementary school and we have some really amazing ones. Iāve been thinking of ideas and decided to check in here and this is beyond perfect so thank you!
thanks!
So much fun. Thanks for sharing.
how do i get the design
Welcome @abbiewinkler94 to the forum. The design is in the first post, under the first picture, just where it says āSo here is the design!ā Right click on the design and select āSave Asā, or hold Control key and click on the image for the same result. You should get a file named āSchool Bus Box (version 1 0 - GF Export).svgā on your downloads folder. DonĀ“t forget to thank the OP. ![]()
Really nice work there. lucky for me my kids are done with bus riding.
No Bluebird logo? Nice work!
My daughter (Army Guard Combat Medic) was trained to drive buses and similar, medics get to fill-in many other jobs/tasks. So I modified the design to print one for her - havenāt gotten to it yet but Iāll post pics when done. Plan to make it ~1/2 scale, with the great 1/16" maple ply that was shared hereā¦
Thank you so very much for sharing your file! I had been searching Etsy for something. Iāve said in other posts the same thing, I know in my head what I want to make. Creativity isnāt the problem, the knowledge to understand the laser and how to make the file is. Anyway, I donāt know why I always forget to start my search here.
Context for these: I am a Territory Manager for a company that makes and sells the surveillance equipment that goes into school buses, city transit buses, tractors, and anything else like that you can think of. I happen to be in the School Bus Division. I only have 2 finished so far, but I am making these for the other 6 Territory Managers I work with, our Manager and 2 School Transportation Directors I have grown close to. Also, two of these will be shipped as gifts to the co-owner and one of these salesmen at a resell dealer for Bluebird that spends an obscene amount of money with me everywhere. Iāve shown a few of my co-workers (who arenāt receiving them) and they went on and on about how amazing these were. These individuals work in the transit of Aftermarket divisions and given the fact that thereās an odd rivalry between school bus, transit and after market, this is a huge compliment. As you can see from the picture, I am gifting them with the intended use of a business card holder that way weāll have it for our trade shows. Thanks again for the file. Iām so excited to gift these! (I did change/add the our company name to the side of the bus and even put our subscription software name on the license plate!)
I am happy to see that people still appreciate my drawing. Thanks for sharing your creations using it!
