[SOLVED] Not cutting through 1/4 maple all the way

This is my new technique for cutting thick material and it works GREAT!!
No experimentation with settings and no honeycomb pins. You are lifting your material higher so the laser beam will be closer to the material.

  1. Thick Blue Acrylic —- change the proof grade speed to either 170 or 160.
  2. Get a piece of 1/8 material —- NO MASKING — you want 2 pieces . 2” x 19”
  3. Place the supports evenly on the honeycomb tray.
  4. Put the material on the 2 supports. You definitely want the back of this material to be masked.

After cutting you want the cut pieces to fall out of the material.

If there is a place the laser did not got thru—flip your piece over and take a sharp Exacto and cut through the laser lines.
