My local plastics supplier gifted me two 4’ x 5" - 3/4" thick pieces of clear cast acrylic… what should I make with it?
No idea, but lucky you!
8 feet of “Oh gee…whata my gonna do”
I duno man, but hang loose, in my experience the opportunity will present itself.
With material of that magnitude a trophy of some kind comes to mind…
Maybe I should give myself a trophy.
Ha ha! That’s funny. But yes, give yourself a trophy for best comedian in a forum.
I’m here all weekend folks… be sure and tip your waitress!!
I would make a led lit display of some sort.
You could have a really nice 24" table with elaborate filigreed design between the legs, and a nice top? Perhaps in glass or tile?
Sounds hard… cool, but hard .
I made this for my wife’s desk as a test.
I thought about embedding some glow wire in the inside perimeter of an oak frame for lighting.
That looks awesome . Great use for the thick acrylic .
How did you fit a 4’ long 3/4" thick piece in the machine?
cut a chunk off
El-wire is way too dim for that. Look at a nice dense led strip instead.
I used to put it on my planes and helicopter, but that was so long ago I really can’t remember how bright it was.
