I am curious, though, about potentially engraving each layer to create a 3D image. I suppose you could fill the engrave with a different color resin. Hmmm…something to experiment with once I have my Glowforge!

I stumbled across that article a while ago and still don’t quite understand how he does that so realistically. I wish there was a video of his technique - truly amazing !

I don’t know if the technique is exactly the same, but there are a few videos on YouTube of people painting fish in resin. Like this one: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dSvWMUZCjRc
What I like about then is that the painted fish actually cast shadows. Which makes sense, logically, but I had a hard time wrapping my head around when I first saw them.
