According to the Discourse, you have only spent 19 minutes reading posts in the forum. I suggest you read some more as many people have weighed in over the past 4+ years regarding materials they like. In addition to your list, I include slate, paper, cardboard and anodized aluminum.

Completely agree! I got two pickup truck loads of hardwood flooring (which is just 3/4" thick tongue and groove oak boards) from an auction for $35. This is going to be my favorite material for a LONG time. Anyone need a plaque or a nameplate?!? :joy:

Near free is the best! I picked up 20 pieces or so of small finished cabinet fronts from the Ikea as is section a few years ago for $1 each (that black/brown wood finish), they make great sign bases.
