50$ a month for premium?

Just because I made a mistake doesn’t mean helping others is a bad thing!

Keep the premium thread alive.

I wish they still offered new users the Premium for the discounted price. I might try it for a year. But I cannot afford $50 a month. Especially since don’t even know how much I would use it.

New Premium Plan - Annual

Customers have asked us to offer an annual option for Glowforge Premium, and this week we’re launching this new plan. For a limited time, this plan is available with the biggest discount since our initial launch: 60% off the regular price at $239/yr, which is equivalent to only $19.92/month .

If you’re not currently subscribed, click on the Upgrade badge at the top of your Dashboard, and choose the Annual plan.

If you are currently a Premium subscriber, you can take advantage of the discount (while keeping the time you’ve already paid for) by following these steps:

  1. Click the name of your Glowforge, and then click on Settings

  1. Go to Purchase History and click Manage Subscription. This will take you to checkout

  1. Click on your current subscription
  2. Click Edit subscription
  3. Use the top tabs to switch to the other plan. Use the code GF29352MA to apply the March discount.

unnamed
6. Click the Update Subscription button and checkout.

Note: Plan changes take effect at the end of the billing cycle.

If the regular price is $50/ month then $239 is 40% OFF the regular price (not 60% off).

50 x 12 = 600 and 19.92 x 12 = 239
600 x .4=240 and 50 x .4 = 20

If it were only 40% off it wouldn’t be less than half the original price…

My bad. You’re absolutely right. That’s what I get for trying to multitask at work. Sorry for the trouble.

No worries the Premium discount system is less then straight forward.

@wazny3530 I’m math challenged too.

Are the premium basics free yet or is this still going.

There is still a premium subscription available. I don’t know what features you expected to change from subscription to basic, but you can read through the Announcement section of the forum for official notices from Glowforge.

I am a new owner of a glowforge and the price to pay $50.00 monthly is crazy. Add insult to injury of my pockets.

There is an annual subscription fee that brings the cost down quite a bit, and the free files and time saved with the premium subscription are worth it to some users. Everyone needs to decide for themselves whether or not the subscription has value, but the $50 price tag is not correct.

The $50.00 price tag is correct; I would know considering that they are sending me emails about it almost every other day informing me that my trial is about to end. No thanks. I’ll suffer through it all, or find a way, last but least I will sell it. I haven’t had it long and or gotten a chance to really use it. I’m sure there will be a buyer somewhere.

You can do wonderful things even without subscribing to premium. This new feature was only added in the last several months. I’ve had my Glowforge for 4 years now and have had a fabulous time making things without ever having the premium features. You really should give it a try…I bet you’d love it.

I believe you. I originally purchased to etch in glass but my glasses won’t fit under the laser. I asked this question before I purchased and was told that sure your jars should work fine and they gave me a photo showing someone else work. (that was a lie). Now I am trying to balance the scales and try new things to do with it. I feel like I wasted money. Trying to have faith here.

Well when that comes across my email or screen - maybe I will take that into consideration. As of current, it is showing me $50/mo.

The message I linked to showed how to find the annual subscription option in your dashboard.

Sounds like you got a rough start. I haven’t seen anywhere that the sales team has intentionally lied to anyone. That’s not in their best interests or the customers. How tall are the glasses? The 2" max thickness/height isn’t too hidden in the tech specs, so was curious if the details of the glass size or what were passed on?
