A simple project

A quick template for aligning and spacing screw holes in a pair of French doors:


Cardstock

The hashes in the middle help ensure it’s centered.

End result:

Maybe overkill to get a laser cutter for this sort of thing but since I already have it, why not use it? :slight_smile:

It would be overkill if you went to buy it, not so much to have it. Just as it would be overkill to buy a floor mill to drill the holes but not so much if it is just sitting there.

I wasn’t thinking of them when I purchased but template making is at least 2% of all my jobs. Usually in scrap draftboard.

I need to look for simple practical cuts like this. I spend so much time imagining a complex project that I don’t get anything done. Yours is a nice, satisfying project.

The thing I cut most often is a consumable blank sticker sheet. It’s trivial, you could do it with a knife and a ruler. But we embrace the laser!
