Acrylic and draft board clock

Somewhere I saw a similar pic of this clock, so I decided to make one for layering practice. This is actually 3 pieces. There are two 3mm pieces of opaque pink acrylic from Canal Plastics that are simply screwed together via the clock mechanism parts. The back is 1/8" PG draftboard that I glued to the middle acrylic piece. The clock mechanism sits in a cut out section of the draft board. For future pieces, I would use at least 1/4" plywood or other wood for the back. The draftboard was scored. Hoping to make more clocks!

Yeah I like how you’re not trying to do too much. Excellent balance of detail and functionality, very effective.

Just a thought on joining two pieces - if you’re limited by raw material size but up to a challenge, you could step it up and do something different, like making it out of contrasting colors in a swirl pattern.
