Active thread set to automatically close

I don’t understand, my understanding was that threads only autoclose after they’ve been inactive for 30 days? According to the @dan himself:

Just a heads up that threads here will automatically be closed after a month of inactivity. If you want to revive an old discussion, no problem - just create a new thread and link the old one.

The thread below is very active, yet it’s set to close in 11 days. Is there a discourse problem?

Woodchucks Sale

I’m not sure if this is the same Woodchuck’s as on Amazon, and my order hasn’t arrived (or even shipped) yet, but Woodchuck’s Wood is having a pretty good sale on small, thin boards. A 6 x 24" piece of 1/8 walnut, for comparison, is $3.50 right now as opposed to ~$9 for the same size board at Green Valley (who has some of the best prices). You have to factor in shipping, but I thought it was reasonable enough with the sale prices. And they have thin boards up to 9" wide (I bought a bunch of 9x16…

Seems like it should be 30 days from last post as to expire off old inactive threads instead of killing active ones.

I was thinking the same thing when I first noticed, but I never imagined the orders would take this long! They haven’t acknowledged my cancellation yet.

Just fixed this, I think - threads should now remain open until 30 days past the last post.

Well, that is, as long as you necro it within 30 days.

I think that only applies to maybe new threads created after Dan made the changes last night. Looks like threads keep the rules that existed when they were posted. Old threads made before the rules do not auto close, Threads made during the 30 day from first post still say they will close soon. Time will tell what new threads since this change overnight will do.

Thanks for letting us know about this. Since Dan has already helped out and made the changes, I’m going to close this thread. If the changes he made don’t fix the problem, let us know.
