Agate slice and mat board tests

First full day with the Glowforge testing agate slice for engraving and mat board cutout. The tests turned out fairly well.

Agate slice engraving settings (200 speed, 30 power, 1 pass)

Mat board cutout settings - with painter’s tape applied (400 speed, 55 power and 2 passes)

*Note - I did get some burn marks on the back side of the mat board. If this is an issue, placing tape on the back would probably work well.

Welcome to the forum. The agate looks great.

You’re talking about masking, there are lots of posts about where to get some 12" wide tape if you’re in the market. This one is my fave.

Victorian inspired wedding topper mock-up out of mat board. Settings 80 power, 400 speed, 2 passes. After some changes that need to be made to the file, basswood plywood will be the material of choice.
