Am I crazy to think that things that “vent” directly to the outside of the machine are probably not good for you?
I made the mistake of watching the videos and now I kind of want one. Fortunately, my disposable income is nowhere near what it used to be.
Now it is on my radar.
Presumably you can ignore the entire “AI” part of the design, cuz otherwise - no.
The dump stuff randomly and it finds it focus is really nice - I’ve seen a few with that functionality now.
20w diode, but will have the same colour limitations as the
The portability is kinda cool - but as @shogun mentioned - breathing those fumes isn’t great - can you imagine how much worse it would be if you were literally holding it next to your head??
Nah. Not when I can get a 20W for $1300.00
Since the head is fixed, I guess all the cuts are “perspective” style, profiles pointing towards the lens.
Gives a “stacked” look, but it wouldn’t be good for any kind of fit-together work.
Only thing that appeals to me is being able to engrave metal.
I’m so out of touch I didn’t realize this is some kind of standard form factor.
The 2 watt IR “Ruby” is appealing. I have the opportunity to get this for $499.
Looking closely, it only marks metal just as Glowforge.
If the company is out of China, that creates another set of issues that weren’t there a year ago.
Almost similar. There is no need for a marking agent or coating for the IR laser to leave a mark.
