Definitely looks like a filter. Like I put those filters over the fans in my house, just behind the fan covers, that vent outside so no critters come in.
But where did you find it? I’ve never seen anything like that on my glowforge. I’m going to guess it’s from an air filter?

It doesn’t look like any part of the Glowforge models or Glowforge filters.

With that back it looks like a robot vacuum mop head but a filter makes much more sense
