I would be a bad fighter pilot. I would so want to push that button on the ground so I could ride a rocket up and parachute down.
Every single time I climbed in the cockpit I’d be fighting that urge.
Sooner or later I know I’d lose the fight

Seatbelt pretensioners use something similar in the event of a car crash. Most use pyrotechnics, which explodes, driving a piston upwards and then drives a gear which retracts the seat belt. They are wired generally along with the air bag - deceleration, explosion, seatbelt retracts and then air bag deploys.
