Art Deco Table Lantern

I had fun figuring out how to clamp this pendant cord into the the lamp for my own purposes. Finally created a little stand to allow room for the cord coming out the bottom and then two toothed circles to clamp the base… I realized that if I cut them in half and then glued around the base I got the best hold.

Design is mine, a tribute to a long-standing art-deco love. I used a cat rather than my usual dog because cats are just more elegant for such things. Maple stained with Irish tea (the really strong stuff sometimes called “builder’s tea”). Finished with polycrylic.

My first plug-in glowforge creation. I’m really pleased with how it looks, ready to have them for my autumn markets (doing 6 markets at least).

Ye gods I didn’t see my awful feet made it into the shoot.

I mostly do dog art, but the cat requests are enough that I’ve done a few. Really allergic and my dog hates them… but I’m a magnet for them, the local outdoor cats come running up to me. So I got some reference photos of a really elegant half-Siamese who lives nearby.
