Artwork with Custom Frame

Here is a simple project for my girlfriend’s upcoming birthday. I used a photo of her as a child, made a JPEG file of it, used Autocad and traced the appropriate lines, deleted the background.
Then ran through Inkscape to convert to a SVG file. The face and body are scored lines.
The frame I designed in Inkscape.

The frame is proofgrade Cherry, while the art is 1/8" baltic birch. I could not use proofgrade as I wanted to stain the picture to get the coloration I wanted.

The scores make staining easy as the stain flows right up to the score and stops. Very easy and kind of fun.

You did a great job on it–she will love it!

How unusual! (Reminds me a little of very early Warhol.) :grinning::+1:
