Hi,
I am doing marquetry and am cutting out some very small shapes on my Aura, and they keep falling through the tray, which makes them very difficult to identify and put into the right place in the end design and I was wondering if I could use a clear acrylic sheet as a replacement for the metal tray when cutting these out, given the Aura will not cut clear acrylic, it would mean the pieces do not drop to the bottom.
Does anyone have any advice on this? Does this make sense? Any risks?
Thanks

The heat generated from the material that can cut could very likely caused the parts to get stuck to whatever you use.
In situation is like this, I have used a sheet very thin aluminum foil, simply because it’s what I have on hand. I have also cut small parts from the desired material laid on top of a piece of scrap draftboard or similar.

No “doh” moment needed here! Usually those moments are those I’m less likely to forget!
