All you need to do is use the default Photo Engrave settings for whatever Proofgrade material you’re running the job on. (Settings change based on the material…best place to start is the settings for similar thickness proofgrade.)

I’m wanting to engrave baby foot prints to a wide watch band any idea on how to do this. I’ll be using Inkscape

I think this post gives pretty clear information about how to prepare the image. For engraving on the watch band (leather/silicone) it would just be a matter of sizing and optimizing settings. There are lots of posts regarding both materials here in the forum.
