Yes. Typically bamboo cutting boards can use a bit more sanding - especially around the handle cutouts and edges. At least the not terribly expensive ones do. I warm the oil treatment in the microwave first. Apply it wet. Wait an hour and then apply it again. A couple or three coats will really soak in. I clean up the residue by wiping with microfiber cloths.
