Found this bamboo scale and had to add something to it. I decided, “why not add something useful like a conversion chart?” FYI: the engrave didn’t effect the scale at all
That looks really cool.
It seems like a good place to put some recipes.
Like the amount of flower/salt/yeast for pizza dough
I really like the idea.
Ummm, because there’s a button on the left to do that for you?
Yeah I’d think a volume conversion might be more useful
Where did you get this. I could see some coffee application for this.
It’s more for quick reference without measuring like when you’re cooking and kitchen aesthetic
Amazon Amazon.com
It has volume conversion in the scale, it’s more for quick reference and decor
Uh… scales don’t measure volume?
Love that! Great idea for sure!
Yes but the purpose of any chart is quick reference. That’s like saying why print out a recipe when you have a cell phone. “Because it looks nice lol”
Forgot to mention, if you’re just trying to get an idea of the weight of the contents in a package without having to pour out the container, tare the container, and then remeasuring or having to google, the chart helps. Also, things aren’t usually whole grams like the chart shows and there’s no manual input. It’s not a calculator. There’s no where on the scale to input “10 oz =”
Ummm this feels unnecessarily and rude? If you don’t like something someone made feel free to not say anything
From the FAQ, you are supposed to avoid
- Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content.
The post in question was informative and expressing questions about why the conversion chart was needed with the scale. You may not have liked the phrasing but in the interest of not bogging down the conversation we are encouraged to look at the intent, not the method.
With that in mind I would say there’s no problem here. @jamesdhatch asked the question and @demarcusalexan answered it with an interesting use case that I hadn’t thought of. Useful and informative all around.

Genius @demarcusalexan. I may make one for our home too!
