Has anyone engraved bamboo surfaces? Any similarity to hardwoods?? Any ideas for settings?

The big thing with bamboo being a grass is that on a flat surface single areas can be lighter or darker - it’s very hard to get an even engrave, but as long as you can embrace the variation it is beautiful!

Thanks for the response. The surface I have is fairly even in tone (but I agree the variation is a nice property). I have one shot at getting this right. Based on the hardness, I think I could get away with an off-the-shelf hardwood setting. Tech Support thought that was reasonable. I’ll let you know how it turns out…
