Your resin work is beautiful!
Did you buy the top piece with the lightening burns in it, burn it yourself, or something else? I love that look but the full electric set-up to burn it myself always seems a bridge too far :slight_smile:

Love the shosugiban look. I have this box I made out of koa when I was in Hawaii


One of the other hobbiests had cut this down into a flitch and was nice enough to give me a slice. The figure you say is pure Mother Nature at work, salted koa. It was thin enough I could just mount it flat on the top of the box, and the wood movement has been minimal so it hasn’t split or cracked the top. I want to take a photo and try to replicate it with my GF on a different wood/box. One in a long line of projects…
