Broke out the cutting board jig

I rarely use the Glowforge for larger items these days because I have a Mira 9, but that is being used currently for engraving water bottles and tumblers on the rotary. I needed to do a custom request for a housewarming gift, and since the cutting board I was using is too thick for on top of the crumb tray, I broke out my custom cutting board jig, which replaces the crumb tray. It places the board in the right focus zone, and allows me to get repeatable results on cutting boards, and thought I would share again. I used Photoshop to prep the picture of the house, and I think that the engrave turned out pretty good considering it was on Bamboo.

The jig can be found here.

MAN… that turned out GREAT!!! I went and looked at your jig. And the first thing I thought about was if you had a thicker cutting board like 1 1/4" or 2"s. You address the depth limitations. I was wondering if there was a workaround you found? Oh. And you talk about the focusing steps that seem pretty intricate. Won’t the Glowforge auto-focus on the material and typing in the depth of the material you are using? Or do you find that doesn’t work very well and the manual focus is better?
