I have been trying to engrave on butcher block but keep getting a material setting error. I have it set to manual focus . I have cleaned all the sensors. The wood is just under 2" thick.
Help would be greatly appreciated

What setting did you put in for manual focus? Have you tried setting focus on the board?

Yes I did but still get the error

At 2" you need to have the crumb tray out…

Also which machine do you have? The aura and spark can’t handle 2” materials.

My guess is the material is too tall.

I have tried engraving thick pieces and “close” can be a hair over and give all sorts of issues, even 15/32 on the tray I managed to do but it was a lot of problems. I think I used a 7/16 piece right next to it for set focus but used the numbers and not the image to set the location.
