I took 34 young women (ages 14-17) on a backpacking trip this past week. Using tiny backpacking stoves was not ideal for our circumstances, so I opted to go with five of these bulkier bottletop propane stoves, but I needed a way to protect them in the backpacks.
I found that the stove base fit perfectly into the camp pots I had purchased.
So I used the Glowforge to cut supports from Harbor Freight foam mats.
The stove sat in the pot like this.
Then I added another piece of foam and topped it with the lid.
The whole thing fit perfectly in the drawstring bag that came with the camp pot.
The stoves survived the trip nicely (along with all 34 girls)!
I love the versatility of the Glowforge. I also used it to cut an acrylic keychain for each girl as a memento of the trip.
