It engraved on the other side, so I know it can be done. I just want to know what it is before I start. Thank you in advance.

It looks like sedimentary sandstone, but it’s hard to say for certain. Engraving should be straightforward- high power, high speed, and as high as you care to go with resolution (LPI).

I don’t think it’s the Rosetta Stone. That one had some kind of writing on it.
