Can you bypass the preparing your print and autofocusing pre check

HI all, was wondering if anyone knows if you can bypass the “scanning, preparing your print and autofocusing on your material” pre check. I cut the same design over and over again without moving it and just putting in fresh paper to cut. Same settings, same position and everything.
I know the couple seconds it to do the pre check isn’t that big of a deal but I was just wondering if you can bypass it to save a few min of my day since i do the same cut 20 times in a row, thanks!

Are you using one of the Co2 units or LED? I ask as my pro will just repeat like you want if I’m using a proofgrade setting such as 20# card stock but the LED units will focus every time.

No. The focus is required, even if you set the material height manually or select PG materials from the dropdown. Its been requested before, but if you email support@glowforge.com and tell them you want it maybe yours will be the deciding factor. We can hope.

Yeah, it’s been asked for since the very beginning, it’s quite annoying but they refuse to make it optional.

The answer previously was there no way to guarantee that a user hasn’t changed things, so they always check. Definitely worth adding to the chorus of voices asking for a “Repeat same job” option, but don’t hold your breath.
I think a lot has to do with this not being designed as a business machine, but they definitely seem to be leaning more towards businesses than home bodies recently, so maybe?
I can think of a way to bypass, but I’ve never had the need to try it!

This is more of a beyond the manual suggestion so I’m going to leave a few blanks in this scenario: If you don’t lift the top lid, it won’t do the pre check. If the front flap is open, there would be enough room to place and take out paper items. Note that this is definitely not reccomended for safety purposes.

Or if the Glowforge doesn’t know you opened it.

Be careful out there.
