Hey guys,
I’m a new Glowforge user and found a bunch of river rocks/pebbles in nature that I would love to engrave on. Is this possible/safe? What settings would be recommended?
Thanks c:
Yes,lots of examples here.
I makes a big difference what the pebbles are but generally yes
There’s a search function at the top of every page. As stated, lots of existing discussion on engraving stone.
Generally speaking the darker (for contrast) and more homogeneous (for consistency) the mineral the better the result.
Testing different materials is a treasure hunt, indulge in the joy of discovery!
That being said, you are wise to be cautious and ask until you have more experience.

just be sure it’s not coal
Thank you!
Good luck. If you get some good results be sure to show us a few pics.
Now you got me wanting to try that. Have a piece of coal right here. It is WV after all.
Oh, maybe I won’t. Too much trouble to remove the crumb tray and grab the fire extinguisher.
Left over from your Christmas stocking?
