CD Frame - My first custom design (finally!)

Since receiving my Glowforge, my lack of software skills have prevented me from doing anything other than projects that used other peoples designs. I finally got motivated enough to learn the basics of inkscape. Once things started clicking, I got inspired to create a design that has been bouncing in my head ever since I received this wonderful toy.

I created this frame to display a CD we had autographed following a show in Annapolis, MD. I used draft board as the backing, 1/4" birch plywood for the spacer, acrylic for the face and walnut plywood for the front frame. I engraved the venue name and date on the acrylic and the artist name - album name on the walnut frame. I glued each layer together using 2 part epoxy.

All in all, I am pleased with the results and I can’t wait to figure out where to hang it on the wall.
:grinning:!

Digital design literacy is as big a step in this age as is learning your ABCs. Bravo.
