Celtic acrylic inlay box

My husband and I are planning a few Celtic inlay boxes. first one - based on a small box my dear ole Dad left with me, which he made himself 50 years ago. I wanted to bring some of his energy back to life.
My husband is a Celt from the Outer Hebrides in Scotland and I am encouraging him to use his drafting skills. He is quite pleased with the first attempt :star_struck:

The wood and acrylic contrast very nicely. Well done.

Welcome back to the forum! That box is gorgeous! Tell your husband he did great! Isn’t it wonderful being able to use your Glowforge to make such beautiful things?

That is a nice design that would look super in mother-of-pearl.

As well he should be. Looks pretty snazzy. How thick was the acrylic? And how deep did he engrave?

Yes there are so many beautiful colors to choose from

3mm acrylic but the wood veneer was a little thinner unfortunately.
