Childhood tessellation

Happy Fourth of July, everyone. I would like to share this true “Made on a Glowforge” paper project (unlike the projects I shared in “Free,” a Cricut will work as well). It’s a tessellation pattern
called Childhood, made with textweight paper. Ideally, you would use elephant hide, but I didn’t since I’ve got a lot of normal paper. You will need to tune the machine very well so the scoring is just right. Mountain and valley folds preferably have their own setting. When the paper has grain asymmetry, it’s probably necessary to tilt the drawing a little.

Pattern for letter and 10 by 10 sized paper. Practice the small one first.

Not really  I injured my finger again, so I’m browsing my hard drive for old projects to share

The octopuses definitely have an advantage in this.

A simple search on YouTube shows this video on collapsing one unit

The patterns that I share are 2 by 2 and 3 by 3. It is pretty tricky to collapse the paper without too many unwanted little creases

I modified the corners to help ease the folding around corners.

@shiying you are showing off. The name just makes the rest of us feel bad. If this is a childhood tessellation, I can´t imagine the juvenile or adult tessellations.
