Clock Repair

Here is a clock that got ‘accidentally’ knocked over by grandkids. I did my parents a favor and replaced all the cracked glass. Pretty simple but practical.

I had to get tricky on the edges and find the right power to etch them out enough so they would slot into the brass housing.

It looks like you even replicated the engraving! Very nice!

Way safer! When I was a kid, I accidentally broke a clock at our house, and instead of cleaning it up properly, I hid the glass in the couch. Later that day I forgot about the glass and stuck my foot in the cushion, cutting my foot!

I had to own up to breaking the clock, and cleaned up the glass the right way. Got a cool scar on my foot now, so there’s that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Super cool project!

This looks freaking fabulous.
Was there a particular design you did for the edges? or just a basic rectangle engraved?

Just basic rectangles on the edges. As mentioned I did them at a higher power than normal for a deeper engrave for a snug fit the metal frame.
