Nice project. I used the profits from my first big paid job to buy a cordless circular saw to redimension plywood to fit in the bed. I agree about the multiple strips. If you have to divide 1/3rds or four is better since it becomes a design feature and not just obvious size construction.

Oh!!! The two halves arenāt from the same single piece of wood?! I didnāt even notice that! Yesā¦ Definitely splitting into 4 makes it look a LOT more cohesive!
Damnā¦ JUST this morning I was thinking (yet again) about getting clock mechanics. I just canāt think of a good design. Folks like you are really inspiring!

Haha! Yaaa!! I did try to use the same general grain for the wood to it matched a bit. (Note the repeating knots)

So you used regular plywood to cut or the pieces where already cut prior to putting them in the machine
