Combining my passions: Records and Woodworking

One of the only nice things about ugly grey days is staying inside and playing with the Glowforge. This is a new box made out of 1/8 plywood and it uses a living hinge style sidewall. The added record on top was thrown together with the inkscape spiral tool and the insane collection of 45 labels here: https://www.classic45s.com/why45s/labels/ae/index.html

Next time I won’t mask the top so I can get a little more detail on the label and the grooves (also get the notches tighter). As a first attempt, I am pretty pleased. Might be nice to make a small set of tiny 45 coasters… Maybe tomorrow.

The most common form of the vinyl single is the " 45 " or “7-inch”. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As requested… Now with Velvet Underground record for scale.

Very cool! Seems to me I’ve read that you can make actual playable records from acrylic using a laser. You should try that.
