As you can see, there are elements of both chance and of strategy here. I chose that specifically to make it interesting for players of different skill levels to play against one another. Yes, it helps a lot to figure out what strategies work, but the randomness partially cancels that advantage.
The the board I made is designed so that all the tokens can be stored inside. The cover closes with magnets.
Since the constraints on what a board and tokens need to do are not at all complicated – two-sided tokens on a 7x7 square grid – I bet you can design a better one or one that better matches your aesthetic. Please, have at it! I’d love to see what you come up with.
Your aesthetic is great. Very clean design, understated accents, and just enough curviness to make it seem organic, while still being composed of octagons.
I’m not enough of a gamer to guess whether it would be fun to play, but it sounds intriguing.
One suggestion might be to stain the walnut to increase the contrast. But the natural colors are still good.
That’s an Etsy sales opportunity for sure. It would be great for casual game players - simple rules but potentially challenging at the same time. Would be a great unique gift.
Wow, that’s an elegant design. Great way to make use of the underside of the board–directions can’t get lost! Maybe there should be duplicate directions on the underside of the cover so if there are questions about the rules, the game doesn’t get disrupted.
I salute you; it’s easy to criticize but hard to make something work. You sure did make it work!
A gentle reminder that it is against forum rules to ask for files. If the OP has an online presence where they sell them, they might have a link to that in their profile.
