But, not all the caps aren’t connected (some are). I finagled and moved letters around once they were objects and then welded them in Illustrator.

I have to do that with the things I do, also. And closed loops will be the death of me. I cut the letters out, leaving the outlines. If I cut them as they are, the inner section of the closed loops fall out as well. I do not like that look.
