Cutting a Seklema mat

I have just recieved a seklema mat but I need to cut it to size. What can I use? - I can only find ‘normal plastic shears’ mentioned but I live in the UK and have no idea what they are - hugs

I think I would use a heavy-duty utility knife or craft knife, and a ruler or straightedge.

I use these bad boys for cutting all kinds of materials, including self-healing cutting mats, so would be willing to bet they would work on the Seklema.

Easy to find at the big-box stores as well as Harbor Freight, too.

EMT bandage shears are often touted as “cut a penny in half.” Probably another choice.

I used a pair of secateurs in the end … as I was in the shed. Worked brilliantly. Thank you

this is exactly what i’ve used to cut down cutting mats in the past (we put them under aquariums to protect the surface of the tables they’re on).

I have done exactly what @cynd11 describes on 3 Seklema mats so far. I just use a standard “box cutter” razor blade cutter.
