I’ve started doing a lot of test cuts with cardboard to save money on the more expensive material. Check it out in this video. Includes settings for cutting and engraving on corrugated cardboard.

I use that Amazon source too…very handy for testing purposes as well. (Been through a couple batches now.)

For simpler cuts, I usually go right to the material of choice. But for stuff that’s more complicated, particularly stuff that has to fit together or fit in to something else, I do in cardboard first. Can’t tell you how many times I made a discovery that would have cost me dearly if I’d gone right to the final stock for the cut…
