Nice. That is what I use (in the rare times I can play.) I have upgraded to FG Unity, but haven’t played much since. Most of my play is not face to face, though. How do you handle what map details go on the main screen? Does it reflect each player’s view on their turn? Or do they have their own screens, with their own line of sight, and the table screen just shows the whole map?
We are currently exploring all of the fine details. During the 1st session that we played on the table, we had already explored the whole map (it was a continuation of a previous session). So we didn’t need fog of war, or anything special. Therefore there was nothing hidden from the players.
Also we are not using tokens on the screen, but rather placing miniatures on top of the TV (we have a clear mat covering the screen).
Since we normally would just play on a hand scrawled map, before the table, I don’t see us using computed line of site or anything. We will use Fog of War.
So, from what we have researched, we will need to have a computer hooked up to the table and then one for the DM and connect the two through LAN or WIFI.
Since our needs are so simple, there are other methods like using GIMP to provide the FOW which would not require two computers. So, we may go that route. It is up to the DM and if he wants to by another computer.
