Every third grade student has to make a musical instrument and explain the science behind the sounds. Three years ago we made a pan flute out of carrots for my older daughter. It was much easier this year with the glowforge.
How beautiful! (Hopefully they get a ribbon or something for that!)
That is awesome!!!
Really like the addition of her name and the letter “A”. Lovely job!
Um, yea. They aren’t going to think their parents had anything to do with that. Simply beautiful.
Haha, yeah, I think the parents end up building most of them with the kids providing the ideas. The main focus is on the science of sound. We did spend a little time talking through the Inkscape part. That is probably something I could let the kids go crazy with though. Inkscape is so simple once you set up a GF template. I am more and more impressed with this machine after each use.
Wait, what? did that work?
Yeah, use a drill to hollow out carrots about 75% of the length. Then use toothpicks between them to hold them together. Then just cut them in different lengths for the pitch.
