It’s still the same time but you get to break it up into groups of 10 - a little less tedious. You can also get an early look at some and decide to skip some variations if you decide they’re getting too bad to be useful (hit cancel).
Well, I’m not sure I’m testing for the same things…I haven’t had one go bad on me yet…I probably ought to run a couple of these past you to see if I’m doing it right…

If you have the engrave power too high/speed too slow you’ll only get black charcoal. Before you get that far you can hit cancel.

Well, you get the popup warning but there are no consequences really. So I guess it depends on what “freak out” means. I wouldn’t want people to think that it causes harm or messes up prints. It’s just a warning. Never did think it was needed. But maybe I’ve missed something.
It’s a stern finger wagging by the app But it also increases the length of time it takes for the UI to render sometimes to the point you might think something’s wrong and kill it.
