Does engraving on bamboo dull the laser beam?

Does engraving on bamboo dull the laser beam? Someone mentioned that it might.
Thx!

No - it’s a joke (at least I hope the originator knew it was a joke!)

Thanks !
I just started testing out using bamboo - my 1st non-proofgrade material. It seemed weird to me, but didn’t seem to be meant as a joke.

One thing you will notice with bamboo is that thicker areas will engrave lighter - so take a look before you move anything and if you want to have it darker, run your engrave again. It’s a natural variation in the grass, so learn to embrace it

Technically if the smoke fogs the lens it could but then oak is much worse,

thx!

The only material known to “dull” your laser beam is PVC. The gas it creates will literally eat the metal away from the inside the machine.

Thank you!

Plus it’s a laminate, so there are additional quirks (i.e. striations and shifts in texture).
