Double sided cut

Glowforge has their work cut out for them to make this happen! Even with a CNC mill, precise measuring tools, and stock that’s known to be square, it’s still not a cakewalk to make cuts from the top and bottom line up “perfectly”.

It’s even more narrow than that - the only issue is if you need to perfectly align the rotation of the etching/cutting on both sides. For a circular coaster, it’s likely not an issue because manual alignment is close enough.

If you need perfect alignment of geometrically perfect shapes (circle, square) I think you’d need to drill/cut alignment holes. Will the GF be able to cut through a half inch material from one side, then use those holes to align cut/etching on the second side?

Maybe someday - we’ll put it in the feature hopper!

I would think that a drill, or other non-laser tool, might be necessary to create the reference holes.
