Downtown Bethesda, MD

A friend saw some laser cut maps I made and wanted to buy one for her boyfriend. The heart is placed on a coffee shop where they first met.

Chipboard 30 pt. 10.85x14.75 inch. Stuck some 3mm plywood squares behind the map so it is lifted off of the green background to give a slight 3D effect. Framed in an Ikea Hovsta 16x20 frame. been using these frames for some time now and they are really nice.

That is well done, and I am sure Colin will love it. Thanks for the info about the frame - nice to know where to get something similar.

I’m a huge map lover, but this is beautiful! Very nicely presented. Of course, the heart seals the project.

Not very delicate although it does look like that. It’s cut from chipboard so it’s pretty sturdy to handle. printer paper>cardstock>chipboard>light ply> 3mm BB… in terms of sturdiness.

Yeah, me too, there is something oddly satisfying watching the laser cut out the streets, and it is accompanied with a distinct symphony of the belt drive moving. LoL.
