Engraving Bible

My son in law is heading off to seminary and asked me if I could engrave the Jerusalem Cross onto the front of his bibles.

I was definitely nervous, but it turned out nice. They aren’t leather, but Trutone. I looked it up and trutone doesn’t contain PVC.

My settings were 1000/45, 270dpi on the Plus.

I do this on Moleskin covers - works really well. Great job!

Nice. Did you do the border as well? Or just the middle graphic?

The border was already on it. I just did the cross on this one and on a black one. This one is prettier though

Great job on that. Blessings to him!

Thank you. I masked the cover and then measured and marked where I wanted it with pen. On a cross like this it’s easy to put the center of it on a center mark.

True, simple (but clever!) solutions are always the best!

Hi! Can you share the settings you use for Moleskine? I’m a bit scared to ruin the notebook.

Moleskin can contain PVC, which is an absolute NO in a laser.
Supposedly there are some that don’t, but be very sure before engraving anything as burning PVC will literally eat/corrode your machine.
